John Barrowman has detailed how the “severe” neck injury he sustained over the weekend left him in tears before he sought treatment and received spinal injections.

On Monday, the new Dancing On Ice judge appeared on This Morning via video link to discuss what led to the accident.

He explained: “I was doing a TV appearance a couple of days ago and they asked me to come on and do this dance move, which I did, and my brain thought I was 20 years old again, and I did some kind of a drop.

“And when I fell down on the ground I ruptured my C5 and C6 vertebrae, which then ruptured the facet joint. I’ve got to get the technical terms right.

“So it caused a severe amount of pain, to the point that when I was in rehearsals it started getting worse and worse, and by the end of rehearsal the other day I literally was on my knees in agony.

“I couldn’t sing because I couldn’t extend my jaw to sing, and so the pain was so bad. I was literally on my knees in tears and had to be taken to the hospital to have it all checked out.”

Barrowman told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that he was “frightened” after the accident, at the time telling his husband that he was “really scared”.

However, he went to explain that he felt “70-80 percent better” following on from the injections.

Yesterday, the 52-year-old revealed he was being rushed off to hospital by husband Scott Gill for an MRI scan on his neck, which he later divulged had discovered he had a C5/6 facet joint injury.

The Torchwood star shared he had multiple “intraspinal injections” to act as an anti-inflammatory to help him move again.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, Barrowman said in a video before undergoing the procedure: "It's 2:30 in the morning and I've just had to wake up and take another pain killer and inflammatory. Scott says I'm going to have some small needles... and some very big ones put into my neck so I'll let you know how it goes.

"I can't really move that much ...so that's it."

Barrowman once again updated his fans as he shared the procedure had been done, but noted it was "a bit uncomfortable" as he posted a photo of himself sporting a large plaster on his back.

The star was forced to cancel two dates of his A Fabulous Christmas tour, which was due to kick off this weekend, after the injury "made it impossible" for him to sing or move.

In a post, he wrote that he was "so disappointed" to "let everyone down" but detailed that the cancelled Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December performances had managed to be rescheduled.

On Instagram, Barrowman shared his hopes of being well enough to perform in Manchester on Monday 2 December.

For the first time in US history, a decade will pass without the country falling into a recession

Ronald: Well the so called experts missed the job growth for November BIGLY. So what credibility do they have? None. Here is what has kept the country from going into recession in spite of the media, the desperate dems and the so called experts predicting a recession: • PRESIDENT TRUMP ACCOMPLISHMENTS • 7,000,000 new jobs have been created since the election. • Passed tax reform bills that reduced taxes for individuals and corporations • GDP above 3% • Business confidence index up 162% since the last month of the Obama administration • $13.1 TRILLION growth in corporate value increase since Trump election • Business and consumer confidence index at an all time high • Stock market up 58% since Trump was elected at an all time high • Stocks have gained 13 trillion in value since the election • 5.0% wage increase for the middle class in 2018 and 3.4% for the 1st 9 months of 2019 • Made NATO members pay their 2% of GDP • Average household income up $5000 this year, the biggest increase in history • Middle class expanding • Eliminated 800+ job killing regulations implemented by Obama • 700,000 new manufacturing jobs. • More Americans are employed now than ever before in our history. • Jobless claims at lowest level in nearly five decades. • The economy has achieved the longest positive job-growth streak on record. • Job openings are at an all-time high. Seven million job openings and only six million people to fill them. Job vacancies outnumber job seekers for the first time on record. • Repealed Obamacare mandate • Unemployment claims at 50 year low • Obliterated ISIS • Companies like Toyota, Mazda, Foxconn, Broadcom Limited announced plans to open U.S. Cut illegal immigration in half • African-American, Hispanic, and Asian-American unemployment rates have all recently reached record lows • Worked to bring companies back to the U.S. • plants. • 6.2 million Americans off food stamps and into the labor force which equates to 6.2 less people voting for a democrat. President Trump is the only businessman in history to become President. All of the others were beholden to their donors to the extent that they might not do what is right for Americans, or their party, in order to keep the donor money coming in. So why would we vote for a politician with no business experience? None of the past Democratic Presidents, especially Obama, ever generated economic numbers anywhere close to those of President Trump swamp.”. “He’s no Mr. Nice Guy, but sometimes it takes a Donald Trump to change Washington and drain the swamp.
