Deal or No Deal Island almost sounds like a show that would've popped up in the background of 30 Rock, combining a familiar program with a conceit borrowed from other popular shows.

But while Deal or No Deal Island might have fit right in alongside Gold Case, MILF Island, and Sports Shouting, it's not a Jack Donaghy creation. It's a real spinoff, and none other than Joe Manganiello will serve as host, NBC announced Wednesday.

The new show will put a spin on the traditional Deal or No Deal format by bringing 13 players to the Banker's private island, where they'll engage in an immersive, season-long competition full of "mind-bending dilemmas" to win that elusive cash.

In a teaser video, original Deal or No Deal host Howie Mandel promises "bigger money" and "harrowing challenges" before coming to the realization that he's a germaphobe and can't go to an island full of bugs and snakes. His solution, of course, is to bring in Manganiello, the strapping actor known for his work on HBO's True Blood and in the Magic Mike movies. (Mandel will serve as an executive producer on Island.)

The familiar Deal or No Deal briefcases will be hidden around the undisclosed island, with millions in prizes available. In addition to those prizes, players will vie for immunity. At the end of each episode, one player has to enter "the Temple" for a high-stakes game. The last player standing at the end of the season will have the opportunity to win the biggest prize in the show's history.

"We're gonna have a good time," Manganiello promises.

Deal or No Deal Island will debut in 2024, with an exact date yet to be announced. Watch the teaser above.
