Joe Jonas Plays Pre-April Fools’ Day Prank on Hailee Steinfeld

The middle Jonas brother is getting a head start on April Fools’ Day this year.

Joe and his band DNCE were just featured in Hailee Steinfeld’s new music video “Rock Bottom,” and on Tuesday, he decided to insert himself into another one of her appearances. During the Pitch Perfect 2 star’s interview with the Australian radio show Smallzy’s Surgery on Nova 96.9, Joe called in, posing as a fan with a British accent and two totally bizarre questions. The 26-year-old singer introduced himself as Harry, and began his first query with the disclaimer that “it’s kind of weird,” but he continued, asking, “Will you send me some of your toenail clippings in the mail?"

Hailee, 19, was completely thrown off and wondered whether this caller was for real. But after "Harry” (a.k.a. Joe) followed up with a second question, asking what it was “like working with DNCE and Joe Jonas,” Hailee quickly figured out her caller’s true identity.
