Joe Budden Reads DMs From Drake Following ‘For All The Dogs’ Back-And-Forth

Joe Budden used the latest episode of his The Joe Budden Podcast to respond to Drake’s recent rant against him, which stemmed from Budden’s critique of his latest album, For All The Dogs.

In the Patreon-exclusive episode, Budden reads aloud direct messages Drake sent him after their public back and forth online, according to a clip shared by The Neighborhood Talk.

After telling Joe to pick up a pen and start rapping again, he condescendingly adds, “a little radio play would do you some good, papa.”

Budden went on to say he has no desire to “beef” with the Toronto kid and is happier than he’s ever been. “I don’t even understand…I don’t even get the message,” he said of his confusion over Drake’s passive aggression.

Joe then read his own reply to Drake: “I’m not sure why you went crazy like that. I like the album. This ain’t 2016, I got no beef, but get your sh*t off, dog. Matter of fact, no one is happier for you than me.”

He then read another note from Drizzy: “You bringing up my friends and the bi**hes I f**k like you know anything about that.” This prompts Joey to reveal a subtle smirk and mention “best of bro eskimo.”

The term “eskimo brothers” refers to two men who have slept with the same woman.

“Keep it music,” Drake continued. “I don’t give a f**k what you listen to in your free time because the people’s opinion I care about don’t have free time.”

“See, still, it’s another jab,” Budden noted. “Why do he feel the need…not only do you not have to do this right now, but it don’t work on me! I don’t know if people know this about me, but this doesn’t work on me, but it’s fine.”

Budden continued to read from Drake, “I also don’t care if you like of dislike something, but don’t talk about my life and sh*t like you trying to plant some seed or paint some narrative and turn people against me. Talk about the music, if you hate it, you hate it. But you talking about ‘you out here f**king 25 year olds.'”

Budden then skips some lines he deems “personal” before resuming, “That sh*t feels malicious to me and I don’t do well with that. Your nerd co-host can sit and talk about gangsta this and that, but you know how we get down, so keep it journalistic jabronis.”

Budden’s initial critique of the album centered on its themes feeling immature for an artist of Drake’s age and experience, suggesting the rapper hang with people his own age and stop “f**king these 25-year-olds,” resulting in Drizzy going in on the retired rapper via DJ Akademik’s Instagram page.

“You left [music] behind to do what you are doing in this clip because this is what actually pays your bills,” Drake typed. “You switched careers cause the things that pop into your brain had you broke living cheque to cheque and the raps you write had 450 men showing up to your shows in dusty Enyce jeans to screw up their face to Mood Muzik 29 and pretend you are the goat. Please, to any artist that’s doing what they feel is right don’t let these opinions affect your mindset after the fact… this guy is the poster child of frustration and surrendering.”
