Rick Ross and Meek Mill delivered their first-ever collaborative album Too Good To Be True earlier this month. Now, Joe Budden has shared that while there are aspects of it that he enjoyed, he mostly sees it as a “money grab.”

The eponymous podcast host and his co-hosts shared their thoughts on the project during the Nov. 11 episode. “Meek and Ross, that was all over the place,” he said. “It’s cool loud. If you turn it all the way up, it’s cool. I love the Wale record on there, I love that record. It’s a few more records on there I love. I love all the records that are three minutes and 40 seconds long. There’s a lot that’s not that long — they’re shorter. When they do that, whatever they’re talking about jumps out on the track to me.”

He went a bit deeper into his issues with the album and cited a lack of substantive topics and his high standards for the duo. “Them ni**as ain’t talking about nothing. They ain’t said nothing on that whole project,” he said. “Not a word, not a thing […] It was a money grab, for sure. I don’t think [there’s] nothing wrong [with that] — they got the money. When I hear Ross and Meek, it’s classic time for me. So this was cool, but my bar for them is high-high.” Check out the full discussion below.

Rick Ross and Meek Mill first clued fans in on the project when they released “Shaq & Kobe” back in September. They officially announced Too Good To Be True soon after and followed up with the single “Lyrical Eazy.”

Listeners got a treat when they delivered a remix to “Shaq & Kobe” featuring Shaquille O’Neal himself and his former rap beef combatant Damian Lillard. Released on Nov. 10, the 17-track album featured Wale, Future, French Montana, Teyana Taylor, Jeremih, Fabolous, and more. Stream Too Good To Be True below.
