Jodie Sweetin's 2 Kids: All About Zoie and Beatrix

The 'Full House' actress has an honest parenting approach with her children

Jodie Sweetin has a lot of experience playing a daughter on TV as Stephanie in Full House and Fuller House, but now she has a packed home of her own with her kids, Zoie and Beatrix.

Sweetin married Cody Herpin in 2007 and they welcomed their daughter Zoie the following year before going their separate ways a few months later. The actress gave birth to her second daughter, Beatrix, in 2010 with Morty Coyle. The couple got married in 2012 and announced their separation the next year.

Fast forward, Zoie and Beatrix stood beside their mom at her wedding to Mescal Wasilewski. The couple got engaged after nearly four years together. Sweetin's children were a big part of the wedding planning process and Zoie even chose her mom's dress.

"Zoie was the one that picked it off the rack and it was the first one I tried on and it was stunning and gorgeous," she told PEOPLE. "They're so excited to stand up there with me. ... They just are so happy to see me happy and they love this little unit that we have."

Sweetin also shared she knew Wasilewski was her match because of how he treated Zoie and Beatrix.

"He steps up and steps in for them all the time," the Hallmark star said. "The driving them back and forth, whether it's soccer games or these plays ... He really has jumped in and he listens to them and they laugh with him."

When it comes to parenting and making their blended family work, she revealed that honesty is the best policy.

"One thing I have always done with my girls is admitted that I'm not perfect and that I don't always have all the answers and that I'm just trying to do my best," she told Today in May 2023. "Because I think it's important for kids to know that we're human too."

Zoie Herpin, 16

Sweetin and Herpin welcomed Zoie Laurelmae Herpin on April 12, 2008.

Throughout the years, Zoie has attended a few industry events with Sweetin, including the Hotel Transylvania 3 premiere in 2018 and the Kid's Choice Awards in 2019. Despite her rare outings, the Party of Five guest star has shared details about Zoie's personality when the opportunity arises.

"My girls have good boundaries; they stand up for themselves and speak their minds," she said on the Allison Interviews podcast in 2021. "Particularly my older one, she has always been that kid that would say, 'I don't like that.' Not necessarily in a bratty way, but like, 'Nope, I'm not doing this.' "

The mother of two also spoke to Today about how impressed she was with Zoie's positive presence on social media.

"I was actually really proud of her," Sweetin said in 2019. "I went through some of her stuff. And I saw some of her comments. I always tell them to be positive and not to be mean. I have no patience for any sort of cyberbullying."

To celebrate Zoie's 15th birthday in 2023, Sweetin posted a photo of her elder daughter in her soccer uniform and a carousel of throwback pictures.

"Zo, you have grown into such an INCREDIBLE young person, I am beyond proud of you," the actress wrote in the caption. "Your heart, your hard work, your sense of humor… you are such a bright light in so many ways. ... I’m so happy to be your mom ❤️❤️❤️."

A few months later, she shared a snap of Zoie going to her homecoming dance and posing with her younger sister at home beforehand. "Zo was off to HoCo last night, with Bea giving a send-off!" the mom of two wrote in the caption.

Zoie has an Instagram dedicated to her passion for soccer as well as a personal account, where she shares updates on her vintage Jeep and hanging out with her friends.

Sweetin's firstborn may also be following in her acting footsteps — she had a small cameo on Fuller House season 2.

Beatrix Sweetin Coyle, 13

Sweetin and Coyle announced the arrival of their daughter Beatrix Carlin Sweetin Coyle on Aug. 31, 2010.

Speaking with PEOPLE in 2011, the podcast host shared that Zoie adapted well to becoming a big sister.

"She's the sweetest," Sweetin said. "She just loves being a part of helping and wanting to change diapers and wanting to play with [Beatrix] and give her kisses."

She added, "When she wakes up in the morning, she's like, 'Oh, I want to wake up Beatwix too, Mommy,' and she gets her little step stool and brings it in and looks over the crib. It's adorable."

Like her sister, Sweetin has taken Beatrix to fun events, including a special evening raising money for rescue dogs in 2022, which she shared on Instagram.

"At the #wagsandwalksgala last night and brought Bea as my date! It was heaven… dogs everywhere," she captioned a selfie of them.

To celebrate Beatrix's 13th birthday in 2023, Sweetin posted a carousel of throwback and recent photos on her Instagram.

"Looking back through all these pics from when she was little until now… always the silly face, the animal lover, the cuddly one," she wrote. "Proud is too small a word. Love you to the moon and back, Bea!!"

Shortly after her birthday, the mother-daughter duo went to Beyoncé's Renaissance tour.
