While escape rooms are a favorite pastime of some HGTV stars, Joanna Gaines is not a fan.

The Fixer Upper star, 45, was caught on camera squatting in a corner and looking miserable as a group that included her husband, Chip Gaines, appeared engrossed in the task they were working on.

“Got caught mentally escaping the escape room,” Joanna captioned the photo on Instagram, including a lock emoji. Escape rooms, in which participants use clues to solve puzzles in an immersive setting with the goal of getting out, have gained popularity over the past decade.

The Magnolia Network co-founder also shared the funny photo to her Instagram Story Monday night.

While escape rooms may not be her thing, Joanna told PEOPLE in November that she’s embracing a new adventurous phase. For example, she signed up for her first horseback riding lesson.

“I have a dream to barrel race,” Joanna said, referring to the rodeo event in which competitors try to zoom around a set of drums in a clover leaf pattern in the fastest time possible.

And last year, she took up beekeeping, calling it her “favorite thing to do.”

In August, Joanna and her youngest son Crew, 5, harvested 10 gallons of honey on their Waco, Texas property.  She and Chip, 49, also share Drake, 19, Ella, 17, Duke, 15, and Emmie, 14.

The designer also rediscovered her love of roller skating and has been gliding around their Waco farm and the set of her cooking show.

Joanna, who celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary with Chip in 2023, said her outlook on life began to change when she was writing her memoir, The Stories We Tell.

"You were a stick in the mud for quite some time," Chip added. "You're really starting to catch your second wind."

According to a press release, the show will “follow the full transformation of the property throughout the season as Chip and Joanna go above and beyond with surprising interior designs and unique outdoor installations never before seen on Fixer Upper."
