Jimmy Kimmel responds to Marjorie Taylor Greene reporting his joke to Capitol police

Jimmy Kimmel kicked off Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday by addressing the burgeoning feud between him and Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. It all began when Kimmel made a joke Tuesday night, implying that Will Smith should slap Greene for a tweet she had posted, clearly invoking Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. Greene responded by reporting Kimmel to the Capitol police, which Kimmel found a bit more than hypocritical.

“She called the same police she voted against giving a Congressional Gold Medal to for defending our Capitol against the insurrection she helped incite on January 6th,” Kimmel said. “That’s who she called, the people she wanted to defund. It’s amazing how quickly you can go from, ‘These liberals, you can’t say anything anymore’ to ‘What did you say? I’m calling the cops.’”

Until Thursday night, the back-and-forth was only on Twitter. In one tweet, Greene accused Kimmel of attempting to incite violence against her, which was too much for Kimmel to let slide.

“She’s the one who endorsed fringe conspiracy theories and repeatedly indicated support for executing prominent Democratic politicians,” Kimmel said. “Now she’s dialing 911 because she got made fun of. She’s a snowflake and a sociopath at the same time. A snowciopath.”

JIMMY KIMMEL: I appear to have run afoul of probably the worst woman in American politics. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Congress person from the 14th district of Georgia, is unhappy. She's specifically unhappy with me.

KYLIE MAR: On "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Thursday, Kimmel spoke about his burgeoning feud with Republican representative, Marjorie Taylor Greene. Greene reported Kimmel to the Capitol Police for a joke he made on Tuesday in which he invoked Will Smith's infamous slap at the Oscars.

JIMMY KIMMEL: This woman, Klan mom, is especially upset with the three Republican senators who said they'll vote yes on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson who's nominated for the Supreme Court. She tweeted, Murkowski, Collins, and Romney are pro-pedophile, they just voted for KBJ. Wow, where is Will Smith when you really need him, huh?

KYLIE MAR: Kimmel called Greene out for the hypocrisy of going to the Capitol Police for help after she voted against awarding medals to them for protecting the Capitol against a violent insurrection.

JIMMY KIMMEL: Called the same police she voted against giving a Congressional Gold Medal to for defending our capital against the insurrection. She helped incite on January 6. That's who she called, the people she wanted to defund. It's amazing how quickly you can go from these liberals who can't see anything anymore to, what did you say? I'm calling the cops.

KYLIE MAR: Kimmel also poked fun at Greene reporting his joke to the Capitol Police to which she replied with a tweet, claiming he was trying to incite violence and death threats against her. But Kimmel knows all about death threats and said that's not his intention.

JIMMY KIMMEL: Not only don't I condone death or any kind of threats against anyone, especially as I get dozens of them a week myself from the sickos who align with you, I also find it very rich that a person who did this in her campaign ad is suddenly whining about fantasies of violence.

KYLIE MAR: And finally, Kimmel called Greene out for speaking out against the violence now when in the past, she has supported violence against Democratic politicians.

JIMMY KIMMEL: She's the one who endorsed fringe conspiracy theories and repeatedly indicated support for executing prominent Democratic politicians. Now she's dialing 911 because she got made fun of. She's a snowflake and a sociopath at the same time. A snowciopath as we will call it from now on but--
