Jimmy Kimmel pulled off an unbelievable April Fools Day prank on his Aunt Chippy, who joined her daughter Micki for a sonogram… that was given a little extra life courtesy of ABC’s crack graphics department. The result: a booger-eating, middle finger-flipping, womb-dancing baby.
“My cousin Micki works here at the show; she’s very pregnant and is expected to give birth any minute now,” the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” host said Friday night. “Her mother, my Aunt Chippy, is not the nicest person in the world nor is she sweet. She is as a shot glass full of gasoline. Now, my Aunt Chippy is 145 years old. She’s never seen a sonogram before, you know, where they look inside the belly of the pregnant lady to see the baby.”
So, a few weeks ago, Kimmel and his cousin Sal set up a fake sonogram appointment with a fake sonogram technician at a real sonogram place. Micki, who was in on it, invited her mom to come along to see the baby.
Kimmel had the guys in the graphics department at the show come up with some creative video images of a very active fetus to put on the sonogram monitor because, as Kimmel put it, he, “wanted to give Aunt Chippy the most incredible sonogram anyone has ever seen.”
And that he most definitely did.
With a quartet of hidden cameras set up in the exam room, Kimmel and Sal watched monitors in an adjacent area. Micki and the fake technician were wired to hear whatever Kimmel fed them and then repeat it in front of Aunt Chippy.
When the technician began the procedure, all seemed normal… and then Kimmel’s creative team took over. The tiny tot’s finger went up his nose, pulled a little something out and then, uh huh, into the mouth. And then a different finger “said hello” to his future grandmother.
“Did he do what I thought he did — giving us the finger?” Aunt Chippy asked. And it gets even better from there.
