Jimmy Kimmel Gets Inside Sean Spicer’s Head: ‘Did I Just Defend Hitler?’ (Video)

Many people were quick to call out White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Tuesday for his gaffe about how Adolf Hitler didn’t use chemical weapons. Instead of going that route, Jimmy Kimmel put himself in Spicer’s shoes to imagine how it all played out.

On “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the host and his team noted that if you watch the press conference when Spicer says “even someone as despicable as Hitler didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons,” you can “almost hear the voice inside his head.”

“Oh no, did I just defend Hitler?” Spicer’s inside voice exclaimed. “At press secretary school, the one rule was, ‘never defend Hitler!'”

Even besides the perspective of his comments, it’s also wrong, since Nazi Germany systematically killed millions of people in gas chambers at concentration camps with Zyklon B.

Later Spicer — who Kimmel calls “Sporty Spicer” — continues the press conference and also, continues to regret everything he is saying. “What the hell are you doing Sean? You stupid!” he yells. “I just want to go to Cabo.”

Kimmel said the statement was would’ve been “hit-larious” if it wasn’t so disturbing.

“Sean Spicer might be the only press secretary who needs a press secretary,” Kimmel added.

Needless to say, Spicer is not done defending his remarks just yet. Even after his gaffe made the rounds on the late-night circuit. he made an appearance on MSNBC saying that he “let the president down.”
