Jimmy Kimmel's fake Wolf Blitzer accepts Trump's Fake News award

Trump Fake News awards: Wolf Blitzer accepts on Jimmy Kimmel Live

For Donald Trump’s Fake News awards, it was only fitting that Jimmy Kimmel bring out a fake awards recipient. After the president revealed the winners of “The Highly Anticipated 2017 Fake News Awards” on the official website of the GOP on Wednesday, Kimmel’s father, James Kimmel, impersonated CNN’s Wolf Blitzer to accept the distinction on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

“Thanks, Jimmy!” James’ Blitzer said when he was introduced. “I have so many people to acknowledge. First, I want to thank our fake news writers, who tirelessly made up brilliant bulls— all year long. I want to thank our special effects team who made it look like the president threw paper towels at Puerto Ricans. And most importantly, I want to thank President Trump for this trophy of a child’s fist giving a middle finger.”

James held up the equally fake award that had to be censored for flipping off the camera.

Just to further clarify that this was really Kimmel’s dad, the late-night TV host shared a photo of the real Blitzer next to the fake Blitzer.

Kimmel’s mom, Joann Iacono, then appeared as MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. “Come on, Rachel. Let’s go home and howl at the wolves,” James said.

“Trump continually complains that the coverage by the mainstream media is negative and that is true, but of course it’s been negative,” Kimmel said. “When you cover a train wreck, you don’t give equal time to the train. So his goal now is to discredit the integrity of every media outlet that isn’t Fox & Friends.”
