Jimmy Fallon’s Favorite ‘Gilmore Girls’ Characters Visit ‘Tonight Show’

On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon welcomed three of his top four favorite characters from Gilmore Girls. Scott Patterson, Liza Weil, and Sean Gunn talked about what it was like to reprise their roles as Luke, Paris, and Kirk.

“We had wrapped our second season of How to Get Away With Murder,” Weil said. “It was lovely to be able to do one thing, you know. We didn’t have to do it all at the same time. And yeah, they kind of exist separately. But yes, it was bizarre to go back.”

Speaking of bizarre, Gunn, aka Kirk, spoke about the first episode he appeared in 16 years ago.

“You know, I came on as the DSL installer in the first episode I did,” Gunn said. “It was just supposed to be a one-day job, you know? Back in 2000. And you know, here I am now.”

Patterson spoke about the difficulty of getting back into his Luke character, and it was so difficult, he thought he was going to get fired.

“So I asked permission to go take a walk around Stars Hollow,” Patterson said. “And when I got to the gazebo, I sat down and, you know, I started feeling like the guy again.”
