Jimmy Fallon Trolls Republicans With The Help Of Taylor Swift Songs

Jimmy Fallon on Thursday turned to Taylor Swift to help him mock the chaos engulfing the House GOP.

The “Tonight Show” host used the pop star’s song titles and lyrics to sum up the Republican party’s ongoing struggle to replace ousted Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as House speaker, which has seen the chamber grind to a total standstill.

Earlier Thursday, the GOP’s pick for the next speaker, Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), dropped out of the running due to opposition within his own party.

“Last week, Congress ousted Kevin McCarthy and said ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,’ so when it comes to speaker of the House we just have a ‘Blank Space,’ which everyone knows ‘All Too Well,’” Fallon began the bit.
