"I always wondered like, 'Would I ever get picked?' And I didn't think I would," said an excited Barrymore

Drew Barrymore got a big surprise on Thursday!

In honor of her 49th birthday, the actress and talk-show host's Fever Pitch costar and longtime friend Jimmy Fallon announced she'd be getting her very own Madam Tussauds wax figure.

"Hey pal, happy birthday! I have a little surprise for you," Fallon, 49, said in a video message from his Tonight Show desk, which was played on The Drew Barrymore Show. "You're about to join me in one of the most exclusive clubs in the world."

"You are getting your very own wax figure at Madam Tussauds! It's real!" he added, smiling and slapping his desk in excitement.

A shocked Barrymore said to the audience and her guest, Fallon's former Saturday Night Live costar Rachel Dratch, "Oh my God, are you kidding me?!"

She was then surprised onstage with a few of the museum's existing figures on display behind a curtain, including Fallon's plus Harry Styles', Rihanna's and even Barrymore's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial director Steven Spielberg's.

"These are so lifelike. This is so crazy!" Barrymore said. "I've never seen them this close up, you guys. This is incredible."

Asked how she felt about getting her own wax figure, the Santa Clarita Diet alum replied, "I've never gotten to do anything like this."

The birthday girl added, "I have to secretly admit, I always wondered, like, 'Would I ever get picked?' And I didn't think I would."

After years of a wild Hollywood ride beginning at a young age, Barrymore knows that the most important thing is to be healthy and happy as she gets older.

"I saw something from Cindy Crawford on her social saying that she embraced aging. That's such positive, healthy messaging. She was like, it means you're here, that you're alive, that you're living," Barrymore told PEOPLE earlier this month, amid her partnership with Garnier Nutrisse.

The Wedding Singer actress added that everything has gotten simpler as she's gotten a little older, including her beauty routine, which just included using Micellar Water to remove her makeup, and vitamin E oil.

"It's so simplified right now due to just where I'm at in my life," she said. "Whether it's like a perimenopause or just my age or my skin, I cannot handle a lot of products anymore."
