Jimmy Fallon, Paul Rudd Make Most of Olympics-Shortened 5-Minute ‘Tonight Show’ (Video)
NBC late-night king Jimmy Fallon has been pushed aside this week in favor of the 2018 Winter Olympics. But the network threw him a bone in the form of a ridiculously-shortened version of the “Tonight Show” on Monday. Fallon and his guest Paul Rudd made every second count.
Fallon’s first five-minute version of the “Tonight Show” aka “Fallon Five,” included both a monologue and an interview. Though everything was significantly cut down, the host wouldn’t compromise quality.
“Please stop clapping, we only have five minutes,” Fallon joked as he took the stage to run through his monologue, which included a jab at Fergie’s rendition of the national anthem at Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles.

He then had his shortest interview ever with Rudd, the star of the upcoming Netflix film “Mute.”
“Let’s talk about your new movie, ‘Mute.’ Can you tell us a little bit about it?” Fallon asked.
“It’s kind of a sci-fi noir,” Rudd said before being cut off by Fallon. “That’s more than enough,” the host said, before asking Rudd to join him in a duet of “Shout.” That performance went off without a hitch and then we were out.
