On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, 12-year-old Ciro Ortiz joined Jimmy and guests Danny DeVito and Brit Marling to talk about how he gives out “emotional advice” on New York subway platforms. Ciro explained that he talked to his parents about setting up a stand, and his dad suggested giving out emotional advice, to which Ciro added, “because I’m good at that, apparently.”
Ciro said that he’s most often asked about family troubles, and Fallon offered a hypothetical situation of going through marital problems with his wife. Ciro seemed to think that Jimmy wanted advice for himself, and the host had to dig himself out of the hole he had dug, saying, “I’m happily married. Honey, I love you. Nothing is wrong at home. Everything’s great!”
Jimmy went on to ask for some real advice on how to deal with trolls or online bullies, and Ciro said, “It’s not a big deal. Just words on a screen. Do your best to ignore it. I do.”
After the wise advice, Ciro explained that he accepts money from people if they have it, but the advice is free if they don’t. Since Jimmy has some deep pockets, he gave Ciro the classic Nintendo One as compensation.
