The post Jimmy Eat World announce new album Surviving, share “All the Way (Stay)”: Stream appeared first on Consequence of Sound.
Surviving was co-produced by JEW themselves alongside their Integrity Blues collaborator Justin Meldal-Johnsen. According to frontman Jim Adkins, the record finds the band exploring “some of the different kinds of weights my ego tells me I have to carry, what I see people around me choosing to carry, and what I have found to be the truth when I choose to let go.”
Lead single “All the Way (Stay)” is indeed about adjusting your own sense of amour propre. With the catchy chugging Jimmy Eat World has perfected over two and a half decades, the track sees Adkins singing of the relationship lessons learned from growing older (“There’s what I want and what I need/ And the latter takes a while to see”). It also features what will go down as the pop punk stalwarts’ first-ever saxophone solo.

The track comes accompanied by a Daniel Carberry-directed video, as well as another of the LP’s 10 songs. The bonus cut is a re-recording of “Love Never”, a standalone single that was released last summer. Watch the clip and hear the update below.
JEW have also revealed a run of November concerts they’re calling “Surviving, the Tour”, which follow a trio of UK record release shows. Tickets are on sale now, and you can snag yours here.
Pre-orders for Surviving are going on now. You can also get a white colored vinyl exclusively through independent record stores and Jimmy Eat World’s website. Find the tracklist and album art below, followed by the full “Surviving, the Tour” itinerary.
