Jim True-Frost, Alicia Sixtos & Efren Ramirez Join Rod Lurie’s TNT Drama Pilot ‘Monsters Of God’

The Wire alum Jim True-Frost, Alicia Sixtos (East Los High) and Efren Ramirez (Middle School: The Worst Years Of My Life) have signed on as series regulars opposite Garret Dillahunt in Rod Lurie’s post-Civil War drama pilot Monsters of God for TNT, from Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment.

In Monsters of God, written and to be directed by Lurie, savagery and violence are the cornerstones of Colonel “Terrible” Bill Lancaster (Dillahunt)’s holy war against the Comanche in post-Civil War Texas. Despite the peaceful co-existence between the Comanche and local townspeople, Lancaster sets out on a quest to kill off every single member of the tribe, bringing chaos to the town of Slater.

True-Frost will play Mayor Walton Green. Forward-thinking and steady all at once, Green butts heads with Colonel Lancaster (Dillahunt) over the Colonel’s new and aggressive tactics regarding the neighboring Comanche tribe. Sixtos will play Juanita, the charming prostitute who has captured the affections of Colonel Lancaster (Dillahunt). Ramirez is Jerome. Of Mexican heritage and fluent in Comanche, Jerome works as Colonel Lancaster’s (Dillahunt) translator, exuding a close loyalty for the Colonel.

Lurie will direct the pilot, which he executive produces with his partner at Battle Plan Productions, Marc Frydman, and Plan B’s Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Sarah Esberg.

True-Frost, best known for playing Prez on drama The Wire, most recently starred as Ron Ballard in NBC’s global conspiracy drama American Odyssey. He also recurred on Boardwalk Empire, Hostages, and 666 Park Avenue. His film credits include The Conspirator, Affliction, and Singles, among others. He’s repped by Paradigm.

Sixtos is best known as Maya Martinez on East Los High and a recurring role on The Fosters. She is repped by Momentum Talent and Literary Agency and Curtis Talent Management.

Ramirez is coming off CBS Films’ Middle School: The Worst Years Of My Life and most recently wrapped Crackle film Mad Families opposite Charlie Sheen and David Spade. He’s repped by Don Buchwald & Associates and Ken Jacobson Management.
