Jim 'N Nick's is bringing its barbecue to Athens.

The popular Alabama-based chain, which has 42 locations currently in operation across the southeast, is opening up off the Oconee Connector, near Sleep Number and Old Navy and across the road from Costco.

The barbecue restaurants serves all the classics such as pulled pork, smoked turkey, brisket, chicken and ribs.

Signage recently went up on the building, confirming the restaurant is inching towards opening, however an opening date has not been publicly stated. The Athens location — as well as a new Covington location — is listed as coming soon on the Jim 'N Nick's website.
