Jim Belushi thinks ‘health benefits’ of cannabis would have saved his brother John’s life
On Wednesday night, Jim Belushi’s new show ‘Growing Belushi’ premiered on Discovery. The show follows the actor as he embarks on a new business venture growing cannabis. One of the main reasons he got into cultivating cannabis was his brother, John Belushi. John died from a drug overdose in 1982. Jim attributes his brother’s struggles with alcohol and drugs to head injuries he suffered while playing football in high school. He also believes that cannabis could have saved his brother’s life. “In the 70s, if they knew what we knew today about marijuana and the healing benefits, I think my brother John would still be alive,” said Jim.
