The Couple Are Open About Their Fertility Issues

Duggar and Dillard have been open about their fertility issues with fans. Just before the birth of their youngest son in October 2021, the couple revealed that they'd suffered a miscarriage shortly after sharing the devastating news with their older sons. They named the baby boy they lost River Bliss.

The duo are parents to sons 9-year-old Israel, 6-year-old Samuel, and 21-month-old Fredrick. They previously wrote about the experience of losing River Bliss on their blog.

It read, "It was fun to see so much joy in the boys' faces as we shared the news with them. They were full of questions and so excited as we talked about the pregnancy and how they would get to be involved along the way and after baby was born. However, a few days later we started miscarrying."

The Duggar family has faced scandal after scandal, particularly regarding son Josh Duggar's crime conviction.

He's currently serving a prison sentence for possession of child sexual abuse materials. In September 2023, Duggar and Dillard released a memoir, "Counting the Cost," where they shared the struggles and reality of living as members of the famous family.

Duggar previously opened up to Fox News Digital about the experience of writing the memoir.

She said, "It's helped us process and disentangle our feelings. It's been a cathartic process… This is not an isolated experience, just for reality TV or for large families… I hope people can relate to it and say, 'I felt that too. I felt the isolation that breeds from control.'"
