Jesus, Israel, Hamas, Erie's homelessness and shootings included in 'Black Nativity'

The birth of Jesus, the Israel-Hamas war and Erie's problems of homelessness and young people shooting each other will all be the focus of Erie Theater Co.'s 2023 production of "Black Nativity."

What is 'Black Nativity'?

The play was written by poet Langston Hughes, who was part of the Harlem Renaissance.

The first act will feature the nativity story of Jesus' birth, with gospel music.
