Jessy Mendiola denies cause for movie's lacklustre reception
9 Apr – Jessy Mendiola has recently dismissed the idea that she is the reason why her two previous movies did not do well at the box office.
As reported on Inquirer, the actress who is promoting her new film, "Stranded" recently, stated that there has been a lack of real big hits since January, except for the LizQuen vehicle, "Alone/Together".
"But of course, that's a love team and they have a huge following," she said.
Mendiola's most recent films were the comedy "Tol" and the MMFF 2018 entry, "The Girl in the Orange Dress".
In regard to the latter film, Mendiola said that the movie was well received in Japan when it premiered at the 2019 Osaka Asian Film Festival.
"It's sad that these bashers would prefer to put each other down instead of supporting each other. Let's lift each other's spirit," she said.
