One of the strangest things about having a baby is that in so many cases, you simply don’t feel like yourself in those first few months. Everything changes: Your schedule, your body, your priorities, your hormones — and it can be a lot to handle. That’s why we relate so hard to Jessica Simpson, who’s celebrating feeling like herself again after welcoming her third baby six months ago.

Simpson — who is the mama of Maxwell, 7, and Ace, 6, as well as six-month-old Birdie — shared an Instagram post detailing where she is physically, professionally and personally at six months postpartum. We have to say it: She looks amazing, but more importantly, she feels great and is, by her own admission, so proud of herself for getting back to who she is.

The entrepreneur revealed that she’s down 100 pounds since giving birth to Birdie. But this dramatic weight loss isn’t the only reason she’s proud of her transformation: If her caption is any indication, it’s more about Simpson’s hard-working spirit.

“6 months. 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240 😜),” Simpson writes. “My first trip away from #BIRDIEMAE and emotional for many reasons, but so proud to feel like myself again. Even when it felt impossible, I chose to work harder.”

Simpson’s trainer, Harley Pasternak, shared the photo as well along with a caption praising his client. “Beyond proud of this incredible woman,” he said. “Been working together for over 12 years and she’s always the most warm, sweet, polite, and respectful person in the world. And on top of it all, after being nonstop pregnant for as long as I can remember, she’s down 100 pounds and looks younger today than she was when we met.”

We love that Simpson is feeling herself — and feeling like herself — just months after having a baby. It sounds like she has a lot to be proud of, and as always, she proves that hard work yields some amazing results.
