When couples go through a divorce, especially a painful one, somewhere deep down, both parties feel the emotional stress attached to it. Some celebrities going through these kinds of divorce have the tendency to act like nothing is happening when they are in public, but almost break down when they are alone.

Simpson is one of these famous people who was emotionally drained during her divorce, but acted like everything was okay. Recently, the actress revealed that her marriage to Nick Lachey was over long before the divorce proceedings began.

In her new memoir titled “Open Book,” the actress revealed a lot of secrets about her personal life and fans are shocked to their wits. The memoir is set to drop on February 4, 2020 and fans are encouraged to get a copy as soon as possible to read the full story.

Talking about her marriage to Lachey, Simpson mentioned that before the divorce proceedings began, her and Lachey were not on speaking terms.

Simpson and Lachey’s marriage started off innocently as they were a young and beautiful couple. The marriage had its ups and down, but at a point, things began to fall apart and fast.

According to Simpson, one of the things that made their union hit the rocks, was their need to pursue their careers at all cost.

“Our anxieties about our careers just seemed to feed off each other.” She said.

She also went on to say that at the time she mentioned that she wanted a divorce, they were literally not speaking to each other.

I don’t know, at that point, we were not even speaking to each other. Maybe he was just shocked that I stood up for myself, I don’t think he ever thought I would take the leap.” She said.

After their divorce, which was finalized on June 30, 2006, the couple went on to be with other people. Surprisingly, they have remained with their significant others since their divorce. Simpson is presently married to an NFL player known as Eric Johnson, and the duo have three beautiful children.
