She famously played a country star on TV, but Jessica Chastain's red carpet look at the 2023 Emmy Awards on Monday night was all about that disco flair.

Chastain, 46, stepped out for the ceremony in a custom neon green Gucci gown that simultaneously exuded Hollywood elegance and spunky '70s glam. The sequin design featured a plunging neckline and fringe embellishments that swooshed with her every move.

Her stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, paired the vibrant piece with Reza diamond jewelry, while her makeup artist, Kristofer Buckle, achieved a rosy lip with Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and her hairstylist, Renato Campora, worked her ginger mane into a sleek '70s-inspired hairstyle using Hair Rituel by Sisley-Paris hero products.

Tonight, the Oscar-winner is nominated for outstanding actress in a limited series or a movie for her portrayal of country singer Tammy Wynette in Showtime's George and Tammy.

Chastain's beautiful Emmys gown is the latest in a long line of stunning outfits the Memory actress has worn over the years. While some stars gravitate toward the same color over and over again, the 46-year-old loves to mix things up.

In September of last year,  Chastain wore a blue, strapless sequined Gucci gown to the premiere of her film Memory at the San Sebastián International Film Festival in Spain. That same month, she promoted the film at the Venice Film Festival wearing a form-fitting, shimmering bronze dress, also by Gucci.

The Gucci fan also wore a gown by the designer to the 2023 Tony Awards in July, but that one was a strapless, bright yellow number that she accessorized with a matching cape and an oversized necklace.

In 2021, Chastain revealed to L'Officiel that she views fashion as "a form of self-expression."

"I love fashion because—and this is a strange thing to say—I'm very sensitive, and I can get overstimulated," she told the outlet at the time. "I don't know how to describe it, but each outfit that I have the opportunity to wear makes me feel like a different kind of woman."

Clothes have played a big role in helping her connect with two real-life women she's played in recent years: Tammy Faye, whom she won an Oscar for portraying in 2021's The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and Wynette, whose country style is worn like armor in George and Tammy.

Chastain already picked up one trophy for playing Wynette — she won the SAG award for outstanding female performance in a limited series or television movie in February 2023. At the Emmys, she's competing alongside recent Golden Globe-winner Ali Wong, Domonique Fishback, Kathryn Hahn, Lizzy Caplan and Riley Keough.
