Joining Chastain at the event was Memory director Michael Franco. The new drama — which Franco also wrote and produced — tells the story of Sylvia (Chastain), a social worker who lives a simple life with her daughter until an encounter with a former classmate has far-reaching consequences for both of them, according to the film's official synopsis.

Franco and Chastain recently attended the Toronto International Film Festival to promote Memory. At that event, Franco told IndieWire that some Hollywood industry people had hinted that Chastain may be difficult to work with after her 2022 best actress Oscar win for The Eyes of Tammy Faye.

The 44-year-old director, who comes from Mexico City, recalled to the outlet how he was told Chastain may "show up and be a nightmare and be a diva," after she won her Academy Award.

“I told them, you don’t know half of it. She’s the opposite. She’s going to show up satisfied, happy, and be productive," he said.

But Chastain — who shares a son and daughter with husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, 41, — told the the film industry website that nothing could be further from the truth.

"I’m not doing a movie to be pampered. If I want to be pampered, I’ll go to a spa. I’m doing a film to work and to be creative, and I don’t need to sit by myself in a trailer," she said.
