Jessica Biel Says Staying Connected with Justin Timberlake While Apart Is 'Always a Work in Progress'

"It's constantly trying to find the balance, trying to find the time when we can connect," the actress said

Jessica Biel is shedding light on her marriage with Justin Timberlake when he’s on tour.

“It’s always a work in progress,” said Biel, 42, on The View on Thursday, May 16. “It’s constantly trying to find the balance, trying to find the time when we can connect.”

She added, “Thank goodness for Zoom and FaceTime. For traveling families — well, for everybody, really — but for parents who are gone a lot, that’s been really helpful.”

On April 29, Timberlake, 43, embarked on the Forget Tomorrow World Tour, his first live concerts after a five-year hiatus. The ongoing tour, which consists of both throwback hits and newer tracks from the musician’s sixth studio album, Everything I Thought It Was, began in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

In another interview, on Live with Kelly and Mark, Biel told hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that Timberlake’s family was on hand to support him at the Vancouver show.

Their two sons — Silas, 9, and Phineas, 3½ — ”started the tour with him,” she revealed. “They were so hyped… Silas has all the merch on head to toe.”

When Timberlake is busy touring, continued Biel, his time off becomes a top priority for the family. “When he has his breaks, we’ll hang out and try to do something that’s relaxing and fun. He has to relax,” she said, adding, “We can’t mess around.”

On The View, the Candy star said their goal is “just finding the time when we can connect and see each other in person… We’ve never done this before with two [kids], so I don’t know.”

Biel admitted, “I’m already exhausted. There’s been four shows. I don’t know how he is going to do it, I don’t know how we’re going to do it, but we’re going to get through it: somehow, some way!”

Married since 2012, the superstar couple began their summer apart with Biel attending the 2024 Met Gala solo on Monday, May 6.
