Jesse Palmer on what it's like to talk about sex with the Golden Bachelor

The host also reacts to Gerry's Fantasy Suite dates with Leslie and Theresa.

Each week during The Golden Bachelor, host Jesse Palmer will answer a few questions about the widower's "journey" to find love. Today, Jesse shares his thoughts via email about Gerry's "you're the one" conversation with Leslie, and what it was like to talk about sex with the Golden Bachelor,

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Prior to your sit-down with Gerry in Costa Rica, when was the last time you heard the phrase "knock boots"?

JESSE PALMER: That would be listening to R&B group "H Town" during the mid-90s in high school.

Describe everything you were thinking and feeling when Gerry asked you to, and I quote, “describe intimacy”? You seemed... uncomfortable.

a) How did Gerry just turn this thing around on me? b) How am I going to explain “intimacy” to my kids? c) I’d like to crawl into that volcano right now...

Gerry really wears his heart on his sleeve, which is a sweet quality but it can also lead him to make impulsive decisions — like telling Leslie she is "the one" before he even had his date with Theresa. What did you think of that moment?

I think Gerry was eager to give both Leslie and Theresa validation during their time in Costa Rica, and was looking forward to reciprocating the ladies’ feelings. As we saw during hometowns when he told all three women he was in love with them — Gerry really feels things in the moment.

It was hard at first for Gerry to transition to his date with Theresa, but it ended up going really well. What do you think helped him relax and enjoy his time with her?

Theresa has always been someone who has helped Gerry feel at ease, ever since their very first one-on-one date at the diner. I was there watching the dinner portion with Theresa in Costa Rica, and I think they were able to dive deeper and grow their chemistry.

What's your ideal thermostat temperature?

I’m a 68 guy.

Finally, your penmanship on those Fantasy Suite cards is impeccable. How did you develop such flawless handwriting?

Believe it or not, I’ve always had very neat handwriting. My penmanship is something I take a lot of pride in!
