Jesse Metcalfe probably thought he had put season 29 of Dancing With the Stars behind him, but his former partner dished some previously unknown details about their time together. Pro Sharna Burgess claimed that she didn’t exactly have the best time working with him on the latest episode of her podcast, Old·ish .

The 38-year-old dancer didn’t address Metcalfe by name, but it was pretty clear who she was referring to during the conversation. She explained to co-host and boyfriend Brian Austin Green, along with co-host Randy Spelling, that her season 27 win with Bobby Bones wasn’t fulfilling because it was “the most explosive and controversial of Dancing with the Stars history.” She “got caught up in this whirlwind of hate for that win which was really yucky” and was not asked back for the 28th season. When she returned for the 29th season with Metcalfe, she thought she would be redeemed — instead, the actor was allegedly “really difficult.”

“I wasn’t able to be in the room alone with him after the first couple of weeks because of things that happened,” she claimed. “That was rocky, and we were eliminated very quickly.” Burgess and Metcalfe exited in the fifth week, and at the time, the former Desperate Housewives star seemed relieved to be off the show. However, Metcalfe doesn’t agree with Burgess’ assessment of their time together and he sternly hit back, via his spokesperson.

Besides describing Burgess as “highly unprofessional” to Page Six, Metcalfe’s PR rep accused her of making “insinuations just to promote the first episode of her podcast.” They added, “If she is referring to a time where our client Jesse Metcalfe worked with Ms. Burgess four years ago, the only recollection was that they didn’t get along. Vague insinuations are not only reckless but also irrelevant.” Burgess worked with Metcalfe three years ago during the COVID-restricted season of Dancing With the Stars in the fall of 2020. Fans might never know the details of what went on in that rehearsal room, but it’s evident that they didn’t enjoy dancing cheek to cheek.
