It was recently reported that Jesse Metcalfe and Cara Santana had split due to cheating allegations. Jesse was seen getting a little too cozy with a woman at a bar in Sherman Oaks, California and as if that wasn't enough, he was also spotted with Livia Pillmann, a Hungarian model.

However, there is some he said, she said going on, as many people thought the actor was cheating on his fiance despite the fact that there are claims they had already split.

After the photos emerged, Cara's BFF Olivia Culpo took to Instagram to blast Jesse for his actions. She threw some subtle (although not so subtle) shade at the former Desperate Housewives actor, posting a photo of Regina George from Mean Girls, captioning it: "Don't cheat... nobody likes a cheater."

A source recently told E! News, "Jesse and Cara have been together for a decade, and have had their fair share of ups and downs. They truly have been on and off several times throughout the duration of their relationship. Recently, they hit a breaking point and have been having issues."

The source continued, "It has been very rocky starting the end of last year and especially the last couple of weeks. They haven't been very vocal or open about what they are going through as they are trying to work it out, but they are just not getting along."

It was also added that Cara was "completely blindsided" after seeing the pictures of her (ex) fiance with other women.

The Couple Were First Linked In 2006, Becoming Engaged In 2016

The couple were linked together in 2006, and talked about their relationship with Yourtango in 2013.

They didn't exactly gush about each other but appeared to have a mature take on the relationship. Jesse said, "I wouldn't say it was love at first sight. It was more of a slow burn, which I think is a better start for a relationship. I think if it comes on fast and furious, it generally fizzles out just as fast. We were slow and steady."

The pair became engaged in the summer of 2016, though still have yet to get married.

They Didn't Seem Interested In Their Wedding Plans

Tellingly, neither seemed too keen on talking about the wedding or even planning it. In November 2019, Jesse told Access Hollywood their wedding plans were "non-existant," blaming busy schedules.

Busy schedules? That does tend to be the go-to excuse given for breakups in Hollywood, so it's not surprising they've arrived at this point.

On January 4, Cara talked about the wedding planning to Us Weekly at an event, saying, “I totally get why people are interested. We’re, like, two people kind of doing it, like, on our own terms, which I think you know, as a modern woman, as in a modern couple, it’s nice to be able to be like, ‘He’s 41, I’m 34 and we’re taking our time and it’s just easy.'”

Sounds as if they were dodging questions about a wedding they both knew was probably never going to happen.

Jesse Claimed The Wedding Planning "Lost Momentum"

Both Jesse and Cara have been spotted out in recent days, and she was not wearing her wedding ring, though appeared to be smiling and in a good mood.

Cara was seen in Santa Monica, looking radiant as she stepped out of an SUV. However, her ex-fiance was seen looking somewhat glum outside the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood.

Perhaps the John Tucker Must Die star was already regretting his actions? I guess the grass isn't always greener!

Just recently, on the January 15 podcast The Bubbly Sesh, Jesse was asked once more about when the couple would marry, though didn't show any hints of a breakup.

He said, “We really kinda have it on hold right now. We were doing it not long after we got engaged and it just kinda lost momentum."

Well, that is putting it lightly. I wonder if spending time with other women is supposed to get the wedding planning going again?
