Jesse Lally Defends Jax Taylor After Vicious Valley Scenes

Jax Taylor is finding love in a hopeless place via Jesse Lally, his costar on The Valley. You see, on camera this season, Jax has been giving his now-estranged wife Brittany Cartwright a lot of grief. This girl loves to live, laugh, beer cheese, but when it comes time to truly send her Kentucky freak flags a-flying, liquor is her go-to route. But also, as she once stated on Vanderpump Rules, her stomach has never been strong, so when she does drink, she gets pretty sick.

Apparently, her hangovers and time spent on the loo have grown tiresome for Jax. That said, he also just came down on Britt when she hadn’t even been drinking at all. Instead, she was just sick, which her costars tried explaining. Even still, Jax called her out for partaking, choosing to assume the worst about his wife.

Now listen, as I strongly believe that two things can be true here. To start, Jax has spent years attending to his hungover wife, and that’s likely gotten old. But also, he could stand to be a bit less cavalier in his delivery, while also accepting the fact that sometimes, women just get sick. On this, his spirit animal Jesse agrees, kinda.

While appearing on Watch What Happens Live, a question came in from one of the viewers. Andy Cohen then read this aloud from a card, asking “Why do you think Jax is so irked anytime Brittany drinks, and [also] holds her to a double standard, where he is no saint himself.”

“You know, he does drink, but he rallies. He really rallies, Jax,” Jesse said. In watching the faces of both Andy and Michelle Buteau, his comedian costar for the night, one thing was very clear. His answer sucked.

Finally, Michelle found her words, asking “Yeah, but can’t she let loose and have fun too?” Very quickly, Jesse answered “I understand where he’s coming from. But he’s also a little too aggressive about it. He is.”

Good save, Jesse.
