Jesse James Decker is turning to her online mom community after her son Forrest, 2, was diagnosed with asthma.

On Thursday, the 32-year-old country singer shared an Instagram photo of the boy wearing an oxygen mask and Spider-Man pajamas, writing, “Went to the hospital again last night. 3rd time in 6 weeks. Every time he gets a tiny cold he starts wheezing and his oxygen levels drop and heart rate goes up. Ultimately I’m being told he has asthma even though he’s pretty young to diagnose.”

Asthma is a non-curable condition that restricts one’s airways and makes breathing laborious. According to the Mayo Clinic, symptoms can flare up during exercise, by environmental factors like chemicals or allergies, cold air, medications or even stress. Children are at risk for asthma if they have a family history of the condition or allergies, are exposed to tobacco smoke, or are male, Black or Puerto Rican, per the Mayo Clinic, which notes parents should listen for complaints like, "My chest feels funny.”

The mother of three explained that, at one point, her son’s vital signs dropped and he couldn’t breathe well, so he was medicated in the hospital. “After he threw up for the 3rd time ( I think from coughing so much) (no fever) I knew it was time to take him in,” she wrote. “....Going to see an allergist to see if maybe something is triggering the attacks. So confusing for a parent to have this issue and just not know what to do or why it’s happening.”

Forrest was in good spirits, she said. “He’s a champ but it breaks my heart when he tells me ‘Mommy my chest hurts’ in his sad little voice,” she wrote. The mom admitted that she normally wouldn’t share details of her children’s health but the advice pouring in from fellow moms made the reveal worth it.

“It’s that kind of mamas helping mamas community on here I really appreciate,” she wrote. “So I just want to know from this post if any other parents have experienced this? Other than an allergist and a specialist did this go away for your babies? I wonder if he’s now allergic to pet hair?

The “Flip My Hair” singer shares three children — Forrest, 6-year-old Vivianne Rose and 5-year-old Eric Thomas — with husband and NFL star Eric Decker.
