Jersey Mike's Subs to donate all sales to charity on March 27

On Wednesday, March 27, Jersey Mike's Subs will be more than just a place to grab lunch or dinner.

It's the chain's 14th annual nationwide Day of Giving, when 100% of the day's sales go to charity. All customers need to do is make a purchase in a store, online or through the Jersey Mike's app.

More than 100 sub shops in New Jersey are taking part, and every dollar will benefit The Valerie Fund, a Maplewood-based nonprofit that supports children with cancer and blood disorders. Purchases made at three New York locations also will benefit the organization.

"On Day of Giving, it’s our turn to give," reads a news release from the New Jersey-born sandwich chain, which donates the money to more than 200 local charities across the country. "The more we sell, the more we donate."

The annual Day of Giving is part of Jersey Mike's "Month of Giving," which invites customers to round up their purchases to make donations to local charities.

This year, the company hopes to surpass last year's fundraiser, which raised $21 million. Since 2011, the campaign has raised more than $88 million.
