Jerry Seinfeld is optimistic about New York's post-COVID future

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is still able to find the comedy in the covid era, but he wasn’t laughing when he read entrepreneur James Altucher’s blog “NYC IS DEAD FOREVER. HERE'S WHY,” claiming the virus has killed the city. In fact, Seinfeld wrote a rebuttal to it in The New York Times explaining why the city isn’t dying, and on Sunday’s “60 Minutes” he doubled down on his optimistic view of New York’s future. “When you were a kid, remember kicking over the anthill?” asked Seinfeld. “That's what just happened to us. They just kicked over the whole anthill. And what do the ants do? [imitating ant] ‘All right. Hand me the next crumb. Let's get back to work!’” And even though Seinfeld is a proud New Yorker through and through, he insists he has nothing against Altucher for writing the blog. “I have nothing against that guy,” said Seinfeld. “He's fine. I didn't like that nobody was rebutting it. Then I realized, ‘Oh, I guess that's my job.’ Somebody --a real New Yorker has to answer this.”

[LAUGHS]

But don't do this. How do you not do this when they tell you we're shutting down the world, but don't go, oh my God, oh my God.
