Kendrick Lamar’s dissing of Drake and J. Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s latest album, We Don’t Trust You, has everyone talking, whether about the diss itself or the concept of Hip-Hop’s “Big 3.” Jermaine Dupri threw his opinion into the mix and declared that “The Real Big 3” doesn’t include any of these men.
The So So Def founder shared a photo of himself, Usher, and Bryan-Michael Cox this weekend with the caption “20 years later, the real BIG 3, celebrating ‘ Confessions’ ( Fun Fact ) the iPhone didn’t even exist when we made this album.”
Confessions, Usher’s 2004 album, is regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time and holds the status of the last R&B album to be certified Diamond by the RIAA. While it is labeled an R&B album, it blends several Hip-Hop elements and the lead single “Yeah!” might as well be a Hip-Hop song. So, although this legendary trio is made up of R&B titans, there is some merit to the producer’s bold claim. Check out the post below.
Jermaine Dupri’s comments come after Kendrick Lamar’s surprise appearance on “Like That” from We Don’t Trust You. The Compton rapper takes shots at his superstar peers, denouncing the idea that they are all part of a “Big 3” and countering the claim with it’s just “Big Me”, meaning himself. Lamar’s bars directly respond to Drake and Cole’s lyrics on the October 2023 record “First Person Shooter” where J. Cole mentions they are part of the “Big 3” but says “The Spider-Man meme is me looking at Drake.”
Lamar also isolated some disses for Drake, asserting that “Prince outlived Mike Jack,” referring to the fact Drake often likens himself to Michael Jackson. He even cleverly uses the title of his latest album, For All The Dogs, saying that he will bury them in a pet cemetery.
K. Dot wasn’t the only person dissing the 6 God on the album. Future seemingly had some smoke for his longtime collaborator, repeating “Hate written all over you/ Fake written all over you” on the opening title track. He alluded to an unnamed person being his No. 1 fan and falling out with that same person over a woman, which many believe to be Drake.

Drake addressed the shots sent his way during his Sunday (March 24) show at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla. “A lot of people asking me how I’m feelin’,” he told the attendees. “I got my head up high, my back straight. I’m 10 f**king toes down in Florida or anywhere else I go. And I know no matter what there’s not a ni**a on this Earth that could ever f**k with me in my life.”
Some fans cited that he rapped certain bars about his enemies on “Energy” and “Nonstop” with more passion than usual. Footage also surfaced where Future’s song “My Savages” plays throughout the arena, which is noteworthy given its lyrics: “Ayy, this a letter for my dawgs, how we let the money get between us?/ How we let these bi**hes get between us?/ How we let these ni**as get between us?”
Fans confirmed that Drake did not do his normal walkout to the song, but the fact it was played at all after all of this is noteworthy. It’s getting spicy in the Hip-Hop space, and it is safe to assume that is not the last we will hear from anyone, whether they are directly involved or not. Future and Metro Boomin have a second album coming out on April 12, which may include more disses.
