Jeremy Renner Wishes “Hawkeye” Costar and 'Sweetest Friend' Hailee Steinfeld a Happy 27th Birthday

Renner reposted a photo of his Marvel costar to his Instagram Story in honor of her newest age milestone

Jeremy Renner is celebrating Hailee Steinfeld!

The actor posted a tribute to his Instagram Story honoring his Hawkeye costar as she turned 27, re-sharing a stunning professional shot of Steinfeld alongside a heartfelt caption.

"Happy birthday to the sweetest friend I know," wrote Renner, 52, tagging Steinfeld.

The post made by Steinfeld earlier in the day featured the actress striking a variety of poses in a black dress with a sweetheart neckline, in photos shot by Katia Temkin.

"Twenty seven 🩷," Steinfeld captioned her post.

Renner's sweet tribute to his costar comes almost a year after his snowplow accident on New Year's Day 2023, after which Steinfeld wished him a speedy recovery.

"Come on partner!!! Thank God you're healing. We are sending you love and prayers for a speedy recovery," she wrote on Instagram.

Renner suffered more than 30 broken bones and required multiple surgeries after he was run over by a seven-ton snowplow.

He has since made impressive physical progress. In November, in honor of "10 months of recovery," he showed off a variety of outdoor exercises.

In April, Steinfeld told Entertainment Tonight that she gets "emotional" when discussing Renner's recovery from his devastating accident.

"I'm so grateful that he's okay, and he has made a truly miraculous recovery," said the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse voice actress. "I just couldn't be more grateful that he's okay, and he's more than okay. He's such a fighter."

In July 2021, Renner told Entertainment Weekly about mentoring Steinfeld on the set of Hawkeye, "That was always my role. Outside of acting in the thing, I was protecting her and giving her the CliffsNotes on how it goes with this kind of filmmaking: Green screen, superhero life, all that stuff."

"I just wanted to protect her, because there's a lot of physical stuff," added the Avengers: Endgame star. "She's a wonderful actress, a wonderful human, and I can't wait to see all the cool stuff that she's able to do."
