Jeremy Renner took a moment to reunite with an old friend at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.

On Monday, Renner, 53, shared a video to his Instagram Story showing himself speaking with his Avengers  costar Tom Hiddleston at Sunday's awards ceremony. "I ran into some old friends... @twhiddleston," Renner wrote alongside the clip, which shows the two actors as they appear to catch up during a commercial break.

Both Renner and Hiddleston made appearances during the People's Choice Awards broadcast Sunday. The Hawkeye actor made a surprise appearance during the ceremony to introduce the night's first award; he received significant applause from the audience as he took the stage at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

“Gotta say, it feels good to be back,” Renner said on stage. “This year’s been a heck of a journey and I’m happy to be here with you, the fans. You guys are the best. You guys really brought this year. You broke records. You turned movies into movements. We heard you all loud and clear, we heard you."

After Renner presented the night's award for TV performance of the year to Billie Eilish for her role in Swarm, the actor could be seen stepping away to hug Hiddleston, 43.

Hiddleston himself later headed to the People's Choice Awards stage Sunday to accept the award for sci-fi/fantasy show of the year for the second season of his Marvel/Disney+ series Loki. The actor thanked his fiancée Zawe Ashton during his acceptance speech and reminisced on his years-long journey as the Loki character.

"I have played Loki for 14 years, and the journey has meant the world to me," Hiddleston said during the ceremony. "I couldn't have done it without you; your passion, your curiosity and your love for Loki is the reason I'm standing here."

Renner and Hiddleston's working relationship with Marvel dates back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's earliest entries. Renner's Hawkeye character first appeared in 2011's Thor, which also first introduced audiences to Hiddleston's Loki. The characters further intersected in 2012's The Avengers, in which Loki brainwashed Hawkeye into acting as a secondary antagonist for the rest of the superhero team to fight.

Both actors helped Marvel venture into streaming television with their Disney+ spinoff series. Loki's season 2 finale left it unclear whether Hiddleston's character will return for more multiverse adventures, while Renner last appeared in the Hawkeye series, which shifted his character towards a mentor role for newcomer Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld).

"I'm always game,” Renner recently told Entertainment Tonight, when asked if he will return to playing Hawkeye moving forward. “I'm gonna be strong enough, that's for sure. I'll be ready.”
