The MCU actor shared an Instagram Story from costar Emma Laird saying she would be "back with my favorite guy next week."

A year after being badly injured in a snowplow accident, Jeremy Renner is seemingly set to start shooting Mayor of Kingstown season 3.

The actor appeared to signal his imminent return by sharing an Instagram Story from actress Emma Laird, one of his costars on the Paramount+ crime show. The Story featured a photo of Laird with Renner.

"It's happening," Laird wrote. "Back with my favourite [sic] guy next week."

EW has reached out to Paramount+ for comment.

On Mayor of Kingstown, Renner plays the character of Mike McLusky, who acts as a liaison between criminals, prison guards, and police in the eponymous, fictional Michigan town.

Renner was crushed by his snowplow last New Year's Day on his property in Nevada after trying to divert the vehicle from his nephew. The MCU actor suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries, and was airlifted to a hospital after the accident. He was discharged after two weeks and revealed on social media that he broke more than 30 bones,

In an interview with CNN in October, Renner spoke about how the accident had affected his life.

"I just feel very blessed and very lucky to be upright and walk around and to live life," he said. "I'm very, very clear. My life is really lean, if that makes sense. There's no fat in my life anymore. I don't have time for that. So there's something really beautiful about having that superpower."

Paramount+ announced that Mayor of Kingstown had been renewed for a third season in September. The show was created by Hugh Dillon and Yellowstone executive producer Taylor Sheridan.
