Jeremy Renner announces 'cathartic' new music inspired by near-fatal snowplow accident

Jeremy Renner has been on a long road to recovery after being crushed in a near-fatal snowplow accident on New Year's Day, but the healing process has also inspired him to create new music.
The Hurt Locker and Avengers star, 52, recently teased a forthcoming musical project on Instagram, writing, "A collection of music we wrote about different milestones in my journey of recovery since Jan 1st this year. 'Love and Titanium' has been painful, deeply healing, and ultimately cathartic for me to create." The image in the post appears to be potential album artwork, with the words "Love and Titanium" incorporated into the design.
However, it's not yet clear whether or when the actor intends to release the music to the public. "I hope I get the courage to share with you all," he wrote.

Renner previously used the titular phrase in an interview with Diane Sawyer in March, in which he gave an update on his condition. "I've lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience, but I've been refueled and refilled with love and titanium," he said.
The actor sustained serious injuries in the snowplow accident, which occurred while he was trying to rescue his nephew from the sliding vehicle on his property in Nevada. Renner broke more than 30 bones, including both ankles, his right knee, his left tibia, his right shoulder, and eight ribs. He was airlifted to a hospital for treatment and discharged after two weeks.
Renner also gave an update on how his worldview has changed since the incident in an interview with CNN on Monday. "I just feel very blessed and very lucky to be upright and walk around and to live life," he said. "I'm very, very clear. My life is really lean, if that makes sense. There's no fat in my life anymore. I don't have time for that. So, there's something really beautiful about having that superpower."
He continued: "Perseverance. Strength. It's all a mental game. I put it in my back pocket now. I know how to deal with pain. It's all mind. It's all in the mind. If you can sift through the fog of it all, I am very blessed."
Renner, a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, previously released two EPs in 2020, The Medicine and Live for Now. Each EP featured seven original songs co-written and performed by him.
The actor's first musical release was a 2018 cover of Crash Test Dummies' 1993 hit "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmmm," and he was featured on Sam Feldt's "Heaven (Don't Have a Name)" the same year. Renner also recorded a cover of "House of the Rising Sun" in 2019, which was used on the soundtrack for season 3 of The Umbrella Academy.
