Jeremy Jordan returns to Supergirl: Check out first look photos of Winn's new superhero suit

Reunited and it feels so good!

Jeremy Jordan is finally making his highly-anticipated return to Supergirl, and we’ve got the first look not only at his reunion with all his super-friends but also his first-ever superhero suit. Clearly the future has been good to Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) BFF and former tech expert.

This week’s episode, “Back From the Future — Part One,” directed by David Harewood, features Jordan’s return as Winn Schott after he exited The CW’s superhero series back in season 3. Supergirl finds herself trying to stop a Toyman copycat and Winn, who left with Mon-El (Chris Wood) and the Legion of Super-Heroes to go to the future in the season 3 finale, returns to the present timeline as he’s got a personal connection to the legacy of the DC Comics villain. This is the first of three episodes featuring Jordan this season.

In the first look photos released by The CW, Winn is seen leaping into action in his sleek and futuristic Legion of Super-Heroes suit and mask to save the day alongside Alex (Chyler Leigh), Nia (Nicole Maines), and Brainy (Jesse Rath). But it’s not all fights and danger; a few photos show much happier and relaxing times with Winn hanging out and catching up with his former friends and superhero squad. That shot of him and Alex hugging and smiling is an instantly iconic image, no?

There were initially plans to bring Jordan back to Supergirl earlier in season 4 after he wrapped up his stint on Broadway in American Son; however, the showrunners decided to wait until season 5 because they didn’t “want to short shrift Jeremy or the character,” co-showrunner Robert Rovner told EW in 2019.

Supergirl airs Sundays on The CW.
