Jeremy Clarkson and Amazon Prime Video are set to part ways just weeks after the TV presenter said he "hated" Meghan Markle.

According to Variety, the streaming service has no plans to work with Clarkson's on any projects it hasn't already comissioned.

The decision by Amazon will mean Clarkson's Farm will end after season three while The Grand Tour will wrap after four more specials expected to air in 2024.

While Amazon has not made any public comment regarding Clarkson's words towards Markle, the former Top Gear host says the company were "incandescent" with his remarks in The Sun.

Earlier today, Clarkson released a second, longer apology for his words in his newspaper column.

He wrote: “I really am sorry. All the way from the balls of my feet to the follicles on my head. This is me putting my hands up. It’s a mea culpa with bells on.”

He added: “It was a slow rumble to start with and I ignored it. But then the rumble got louder. So I picked up a copy of The Sun to see what all the fuss was about. We’ve all been there, I guess. In that precise moment when we suddenly realise we’ve completely messed up. You are sweaty and cold at the same time. And your head pounds. And you feel sick. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. Had I really said that? It was horrible.”

Clarkson also revealed he had emailed Markle and Prince Harry personally to apologise: "I said I was baffled by what they had been saying on TV but that the language I’d used in my column was disgraceful and that I was profoundly sorry.”

In his newspaper column from 16 December, Clarkson wrote about how much he "hated" Markle and that he dreamed of her being paraded naked around Britain while excrement was thrown at her.

Prince Harry directly addressed Clarkson's comments in his TV interview Tom Bradby, saying the column was “horrific, hurtful and cruel towards my wife. It also encourages other people around the U.K. and around the world, particularly men, to go and think that it’s acceptable to treat women that way.”
