The Bear star Jeremy Allen White whipped up a second straight win for best actor in a television comedy at the 2024 Golden Globes.

“I love this show,” White said from the podium, thanking his team on the kitchen-centric FX/Hulu hit. “I love you guys so much. I must have done something right in this life to be in your company.”

Also nominated in the category were Bill Hader (Barry), Steve Martin (Only Murders in the Building), Jason Segel (Shrinking), Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building) and Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso).

Last year, White took home the Globe in the category for his work as chef Carmy on the first season of The Bear. Sudeikis prevailed in the category in the two years prior to that for playing the title character on Ted Lasso.

In his acceptance speech last year, White praised his Bear colleagues and said that the show “changed my life.” While addressing reporters backstage, he discussed the show’s ability to toggle between comedy and drama. “It’s like life — there are moments that are funny, moments that are sad, moments that are frustrating,” White said at the time.

The 81st Golden Globe Awards ceremony is held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on Sunday with Jo Koy hosting the event. The comedian got defensive at points in his opening monologue when jokes fell flat.
