Never in his wildest dreams did Matt Amodio ever imagine he would join Jeopardy! legends Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer in the game show’s records book. But by the end of his historic 38-game winning streak, Matt was ecstatic to hear from both prodigies when they congratulated him for achieving incredible milestones. Now, he’s looking forward to meeting them in person one day, perhaps on the Jeopardy! stage for a friendly matchup.

Two weeks after answering his last clue on the beloved game show, the 30-year-old Ohio native opened up about all things Jeopardy! on The Dan Patrick Show. In particular, host Dan Patrick asked Matt for his thoughts on possibly facing Ken and James in a future game. But before Matt could share his answer, the sportscaster prompted him to describe himself in comparison to his fellow Jeopardy! stars.

“Holzhauer is cocky, Jennings is a know-it-all, what is Matt Amodio?” Dan said on the radio show, making a reference to Matt's unique answering style on the quiz show.

“I tried to have a more laid-back persona than that," Matt said. "They’re really intimidating, and they create a barrier between the average person and them. And I think I'm a lot more like the average person. And so, I’m trying to convey that.”

“But don’t you want a piece of those guys?” Dan asked in reply.

“I would love to have the opportunity. I'm sure they would wipe the floor with me, but it would be fun,” Matt said. “It would be fun to see what they would be like in person. You have to have a persona on camera, and I don’t know if that’s actually what they are.”

While Matt was hoping to meet Ken during his time on the quiz show, the Yale graduate student lost his 39th game a few weeks before the now-Jeopardy! consultant was scheduled to take over hosting duties from Mayim Bialik on November 8. Still, Matt hasn't passed up the chance to share his admiration for both Ken and James.

“I treasure Ken. He is the greatest of all time,” he previously told Cleveland 19 News. “I know myself pretty well and I know I’m no James Holzhauer, so to see me above him on the record book it just doesn’t make sense. This is better than I had optimistically dreamed of.”

Even without an official date announced yet for the next Tournament of Champions, folks are on the edge of their seats to see if Matt, Ken and James will finally share the Jeopardy! stage together in some way.
