Ken Jennings isn’t just the greatest “Jeopardy!” contestant of all time, he's also the current guest host of the show. Despite all his success, during Tuesday’s Final Jeopardy! one contestant couldn’t help but take him down a peg.
The Final Jeopardy! category was the business of travel, and the clue was, “Adjusted for inflation, the nightly rate this company put in its name in 1962 is now $51.” The correct response was, “What is Motel 6?”
While two of the contestants got the answer correct, money leader Brian Chang’s response was viciously incorrect. He wrote, “What is H&R Block?”
The H&R Block response was in reference to Jenning’s incorrect response which snapped his historic 74-game win streak in 2004. And fans of the show thought Chang’s response was both savage and awesome, with one person tweeting, “Brian trolling Ken Jennings with his Final Jeopardy! ‘H&R Block’ answer was worth losing some money! Ken’s response was perfect.”
Despite being trolled, Jennings was a good sport and gracious host.
“I know from experience H&R Block is sometimes the right answer but not today,” said Jennings. “Even though you brought back some bad memories for me, you’re still gonna go home with $13,201.”
