Deb Bilodeau identified a photo of Scott Hamilton as Mary Lou Retton on Thursday's show.

Answering game show questions from the couch is always a lot easier than the pressure of being on camera with the buzzer in your hand. So, hopefully, Deb Bilodeau can keep laughing about her viral Jeopardy gaffe during Thursday's episode.

In the category "40 Years Ago, 1984," the trio of contestants was shown a youthful photo of Olympic figure skater Scott Hamilton, along with the clue that this person won gold for a four-and-a-half minute program that featured triple jumps. Bilodeau quickly responded, "Who is Mary Lou Retton?"

When host Ken Jennings revealed the answer, Bilodeau covered her mouth and laughed at the error.

Bilodeau later sought Hamilton's forgiveness for the mistake. “Apologies to Scott Hamilton. I did lose my glasses the day before I came down here,” she said. “My boyfriend was trying to get me to buy glasses here, so that’s that.”

However, her mistaking the figure skater for the gymnast was undoubtedly a little easier to swallow after she ultimately won the episode and Group 2 of Jeopardy's Champion's Wildcard, which secured her a spot in the 2024 Tournament of Champions.

Still, the unforced error brought a lot of laughs on social media.

"SOMEONE ON JEOPARDY JUST THOUGHT A PHOTO OF SCOTT HAMILTON WAS MARY LOU RETTON I'VE BEEN WHEEZING FOR FIVE MINUTES," one viewer wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

"I literally spit out a mouthful of wine!" replied another Jeopardy fan.

Unfortunately, the two Olympic icons have both faced recent health struggles. Earlier this month, Hamilton, the 1984 gold medal winner for men's figure skating, opened up to PEOPLE about being diagnosed with a benign brain tumor for the third time in 2016 and his decision not to seek treatment for it until symptoms manifest.

Retton similarly talked about her struggles this year, after facing a life-threatening bout of pneumonia last fall. "I'm a fighter, and I'm not going to give up. I'm not going to give up," she told NBC's Hoda Kotb in January. "I have no idea what the future holds for me. I don't know if I'm going to have lasting issues with my lungs. They don't know. I wish I had answers. But I would never give up. It's not in me."

Jeopardy!'s Tournament of Champions begins on Feb. 23, with Bilodeau set to play her next game on Wednesday, March 6.
