Jennifer Love Hewitt has her hands full these days as dispatch queen Maddie Buckley on ABC’s 9-1-1, but if the opportunity for a return trip to Grandview were to present itself, she’d be on a plane ASAP.

Hewitt is the latest guest on Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You podcast, during which the host asks if she’d be interested in rebooting Party of Five (which already happened on Freeform a few years ago, but let’s not tell him).

“No, I would do Ghost Whisperer,” Hewitt replies without a moment’s hesitation. “It was one of my favorite jobs. Melinda Gordon was hands down one of my favorite characters I’ve ever played, if not my favorite. I would love to do it.”

Ghost Whisperer, which aired for five seasons on CBS (2005–2009) starred Hewitt as Melinda, an antique store owner with the ability to speak to the dead — whether she liked it or not. The show’s cast also included Aisha Tyler, David Conrad, Camryn Manheim, Jay Mohr, Christoph Sanders and Jamie Kennedy. The fifth and final season jumped five years forward in time, introducing the son of Melinda (Hewitt) and Jim (Conrad).
