Jennifer Lopez's Solo Appearance on the Red Carpet Speaks Volumes About Ben Affleck Marriage

The timing of Jennifer Lopez’s Atlas premiere couldn’t be worse. Not only did she have to put on her Hollywood glam and promote the Netflix project, but she also had to do it without Ben Affleck amid their rumored separation. It’s almost an impossible ask because she probably wasn’t feeling her best inside, even though she looked fabulous on the outside.
Before anyone can get too far down the rabbit hole claiming that Lopez and Affleck’s marriage is over, he was never able to attend her premiere. Monday night was his oldest daughter Violet’s high school graduation, and he was in attendance with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, per Page Six. That understandable reason for his absence certainly didn’t make Lopez’s night any easier as she braved the red-carpet cameras alone during a vulnerable time.

Her publicity team didn’t feed her to the wolves though. Her Entertainment Tonight interview was amongst friends with co-stars Simu Liu and Sterling K. Brown joining her. The trio was asked, “Who is one person or one thing you can always trust in?” Of course, everyone wanted Lopez’s answer. “One thing you can always trust in?” she responded with a slight smile. “Oh, God — family.” The “Jenny From the Block” singer kept everything lighthearted in the interview because she’s a total pro when it comes to PR, which seems to be a sticking point when it comes to Affleck.
The Argo star’s marriage to Lopez is being described as a “fever dream” by Page Six insiders close to Affleck. “He’s come to his senses now and understands there is just no way this is going to work,” they claimed. In Touch alleges that they are “headed for a divorce” after Affleck moved out of the couple’s home a few weeks ago. However, Lopez looked unbothered and elegantly chic on the red carpet even though the news swirling around her was anxiety-inducing.
It’s the difference in how they handle personal situations that seem to be the core of their issues. “When Ben’s having a problem, you can see it all over his face and he does want to talk about it and hash it out, but it can be exhausting,” a source told The Sun. “That’s not the world Jennifer lives in most of the day. She’s all about winning, not pain, and she’s still determined to have this fairy tale ending with Ben, at any cost.” It’s hard to see a way out of this narrative, especially when it was the exact problem that drove them apart the first time. But J.Lo isn’t going to let the headlines get the best of her this time around.
