Jennifer Lopez is keeping her New York wardrobe simple—give or take a fur coat.
Ever since the 54-year-old superstar was spotted house hunting in New York City—or, more accurately, brownstone hunting—I’ve noticed the Hustlers star adopting a very specific spring uniform. While shopping around with husband Ben Affleck, the singer was dressed in a striped turtleneck sweater, wide-leg jeans, and platform pumps—with a black wool coat thrown over top. As for her beauty look, her hair was pulled back into a sock bun, and she protected her eyes from UV rays with a pair of ’70s-inspired shades.
While the sky-high pumps give this look that J.Lo je ne sais quoi, this is a relatively relatable look for Lopez—one she appears to be replicating with vigor.
Over the weekend Lopez spent “Girls’ Night” with Maid in Manhattan producer Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas wearing one of the quietest looks I’ve ever seen from the “Let’s Get Loud” singer…if you don’t count the $100,000 Birkin bag. As you can see on Instagram, she wore a similar pair of jeans with a cropped white sweater and some gold accessories, keeping her hair slicked back in a low bun. And yes, her platform pumps were platforming.
But you know what they say: Two is a coincidence, three is a pattern. Well, on April 7, Jennifer Lopez tripled down on the uniform, this time switching out her mid-wash jeans for an ultrabaggy pair of light-wash denim with yet another turtleneck and a black wool duster coat. And as with her previous looks, she pulled her hair back in a bun and topped everything off with a pair of ’70s sunglasses. For footwear, she stayed true to herself in a pair of blue stiletto boots, which she matched to a quilted Chanel purse.
Clearly, Jennifer Lopez has found a New York uniform that works for her—and we can’t say it doesn’t hit. Meet us at the bodega for some orange drink? Your treat!
