Jennifer Lopez Still Playing Coy About ‘That Boy’ Drake
Ah, young love — or not. Apparently, Jennifer Lopez still doesn’t want to talk about Drake. At the 59th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night, the 47-year-old singer did her best to sweetly but swiftly shut down Ryan Seacrest when he asked her about the star she once collaborated with (and briefly dated). “Of course, I love Drake,” J.Lo told the red carpet host before adding, “He’s so brilliant, talented, amazing.”
Because the Shades of Blue star couldn’t quite shake the topic just yet, she explained, “We made a song together. We hung out. We have a great time. He’s amazing. I have so much love for that boy.” That boy, who is 17 years younger than Lopez, did not make it to the awards show himself because he was in Manchester, England, that night.
And while the mother of two clearly didn’t want to get into details about her brief romance with the “Hotline Bling” rapper, according to reports, there are no hard feelings between them — mainly because they’d always kept it very casual … though they did enjoy some dates at Catch and Nobu and were spotted kissing on a dance floor at one point. Oh, and Lopez posted a snuggly Instagram shot of them last December.
“It was never very serious. They like one another and had fun together,” a source told People. “It was and is fun when they see each other,” the source added. “They love hanging out and making music together. She has great respect for him and his talent, and he does for her as well.”
Lopez sat front and center during the show and looked stunning in a plunging lavender Ralph & Russo gown paired with sparkling sky-high stilettos. Meanwhile, Drake clearly watched the show from abroad, sending Chance the Rapper a congratulatory text after he won a Grammy for the Best Rap Performance. “More Love @champagnepapi,” Chance the Rapper wrote beside a screenshot of his message exchange with Drake, in which the 30-year-old star said he was having a drink to celebrate on Chance’s behalf.

We’ll have to wait and see whether this really is the last of J.Lo and Drake as a maybe-sometimes-couple, but even if it is, at least they ended things on a friendly note.
